Slick P is from Lagos state and was born on the 24th January 1974 in Ibadan, Nigeria. His natural flair for music showed in the first year of secondary education at International School Ibadan,when he was joint top of his class in Music. Heholds a degreein Chemical Engineering from the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK where he got his first pay cheque as a freestyle drum &bass and rap MC. His great grandfather and Nigerian pioneer Herbert Macaulay was an accomplished violinist and is a major influence on Slick P.
In the 1990s, MC Slick as he was then known was a co-founder and resident DJ of now legendary hip-hop and R & B nights at Bojangles Nightclub in Guilford. After yearsof doubling as a DJ and MC, he decided to concentrate on the lyrical art in 2002. Slick P became a successful host MC dazzling Hip Hop, Garage,Reggae and Soul crowds all over the world at Badbizznez, Twice as Nice and Trinity Events.
Slick combines his passion for music with his profession in Information Technology and business. He is the CEO of Avante Consulting Solutions, a technical services firm and founder of MoLoyal a Customer Loyalty and Financial Services application. He was an associate lecturer specialising in project management at the School of Management, University of Surrey.
In April 2007 he recorded his first song ‘The Business Plan’ with Chris Tucker of German rock band Radio Road West. He immediately went on tour with the band in the summer of 2007 delivering widely acclaimed stage performances at the massive Museum Festival, Frankfurt and other festivals in Germany.
In July 2010, Slick P signed a management contract with Nigeria’s Storm records where he released International Citizen and other singles. He recorded many songs with highly respected producersincluding Ikon, Sossick and Fliptyce.
In 2014, Slick P founded Board Members Entertainment Ltd,a live band music, content creation, content aggregation, talent management and event planning company. He recorded and performed songs including Jimiwo and I Love Africa for the ‘You Don’t know Me’ variety show based on the works of Tony Marinho.
